building entrepreneurial ecosystems to sustainably nurture and develop home grown entrepreneurs and enterprises in entrepreneurially less developed regions in the world, networked with resources from entrepreneurially developed regions in the world, in domain specific business areas relevant for the region.
Conceptualized and created in 2002 at the StarterZentrum of the University of Saarland, Saarbruecken, Germany. Present Strength of 200+ Direct/Indirect or Co-Founding FTEs in its incubated, co-incubated, co-created and mentored companies.
TotalStart endeavors to promote, aid, encourage, develop, protect and secure the interests of the start-ups by providing education, training, guidance, mentoring, learning, research, marketing, advisory services including legal, administrative, financial and connects to industry associations, business leaders, relevant corporate entities, government organization & financing agencies to incubatees/mentees and to provide and procure requisite physical / IT / administrative / financial / legal / HR / sales & marketing infrastructure for the same.

TotalStart runs a Blind Youth Entrepreneurship Development Center and a Blind Youth Hostel in Sheoraphuli, Hooghly, West Bengal. That is initiative I. The Initiative II is working with Blind Boy’s Academy, Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission Vidyalaya’s 2 batches of students of the agriculture and animal husbandry training department to develop and nurture them as sustainable entrepreneurs. The first batch of 7 blind entrepreneurs are already up and running their startup focussing on cultivating and processing mushroom in a scalable form in a river island in Coochbehar North Bengal www.mushroomers.in . Goal for Mushroomers.in : Create a Food Processing Unit focussing on Mushroom and related agro products backward integrated with Mushroom and related agri-outputs with Blind Youth as a main workforce, shareholders and cofounders, with extension of the model in several states.
Because of the deep expertise and experience we have in our Mentor and Governance Board and our Mentor Network in deep tech innovation space we have taken on the responsibility to create a strong result oriented focused approach towards deep tech innovation lead research and creation of new technology which will support deep tech based solutioning globally viable enterprises.
A little bit on our focus and approach:
TotalStart is developing the first Deep Tech Innovaion & Incubation Networked Centers in India focusing on Artificial Intelligence, IOT and Business Intelligence. Discussions have been kick-started with several state Governments in India for support. This will be the first and one of a kind in the country where there will be strong cross country collaboration between Germany, Israel, Canada and India both across Research Institutions and Industries to develop Collaborative Solution using AI, IOT and Business Intelligence directly applicable for the industry. VCs and deep pocketed Tech HNIs has also been lined up to support. We are reaching out to some of our networked friends who we believe, believes in excellence and would like to support the pursuance of it. We strongly believe in getting national and global level support and already seeing early signs for it in our endeavour to create a world class Deep Tech Networked Incubators in India with cross industry and cross top Indian and global research collaboration to bring in excellence to our world of creating deep innovation led technology solutions resolving real world gaps or probing into new areas to resolve problems which lies in the future. We are closely working out with Niti Aayog, and DIPP of GOI on this.
- TSFE – THE SCHOOL FOR ENTREPRENEURS tsfe.in (A joint Initiative with partners)
TSFE’s unique program for 2 years discovers and develops THE RIGHT ASPIRANT with THE FIRE IN THE BELLY and THE DREAM IN THE EYES, chosen through a gruelling selection process to become an entrepreneur at the end of the 2nd year running an enterprise which is built with the foundation of a scalable enterprise, which can in due course be funded by both financial institutions and/or Angel or VC Funding, with the running companies kick starting the POC or on the next stage. Their Select Faculty Mentors are either high level intrapreneurs or entrepreneurs who are on their hard path of success and growth, and many serially failed and successful entrepreneurs who knows best the path of entrepreneurship. They have max 20 seats each in five of their centers: Agartala, Delhi, Gangtok, Kathgodam and Kolkata but prefer to run a batch of 10 for their 2 year program
